A Day of Fasting & Prayer

During significant seasons of blessing and change, God’s people have set aside days of fasting and prayer, to humble ourselves and give thanks for His blessings. As our Capital Campaign inches closer to completion and we begin construction, we’d like to invite you to join us for A Day of Fasting & Prayer this Wednesday, September 17.

During Midweek that evening, we will serve a special feast at 5:15pm (instead of 5:30), and all Adult Electives (except Choir) will pause so all can remain in the Fellowship Hall for a prayer-oriented program led by the pastoral team.

During the day, you are welcome to participate by fasting in any form, if you are able, such as skipping breakfast, lunch, or both. The Sanctuary will also be open all day for those who would like to come and pray. We hope you’ll join us!

On Sunday, September 14, our Senior Pastor Gabriel N.E. Fluhrer be preaching a special sermon on fasting, so please attend if you are able. In that sermon, he will lay out more fully Jesus's teaching on fasting. In a nutshell, Jesus teaches us that fasting from food brings physical hunger, which should spur us on to spiritual hunger for God's presence.
