Discipleship is key to grow in our knowledge of God’s word, grow in our relationship with God and others, live out our faith in a fallen world, and equip us to share the gospel.

Small Groups

We are so excited to pilot these new Small Groups, and our heart is that we can start more groups in the future! Registering for a Small Group will allow us to connect you to these small, relational communities where you can deepen your faith over the next year and form long-term relationships.

You can use the map to find a group who’s approximate location is most convenient for you, and/or view the list below to find out which group is the best fit for you! Registration is now closed, but we would still love to connect you to a Group! Just email Discipleship@1stPresbyterian.com.

Find Your Group!

  • Date & time: every other Sunday at 6:00pm

    Led by Joshua & Helen Smith

    Our Group is a place for those who want to build community and grow closer to Jesus as we learn how to be disciples together. This Small Group is family-friendly (bring your kids with you!), but all ages and stages of life are welcome. We’ll be studying the Gospels via the SeeJesus curriculum. 

  • Date & time: Sundays twice a month at 5:00pm

    Led by Edward & Christy Gultom

    We’d love to invite you to study the word of God with us as we strive to know Jesus better. We anticipate building life long connections and friendships as we gather around a meal, pray, and share life together! Childcare will be available.

  • Date & time: Every other Tuesday at 5:30pm

    Led by David Griffin

  • Date & time: every other Sunday evening

    Led by George & Elissa Clark

    Our Group will use the See Jesus curriculum to discuss the Scriptures and focus on the person and work of Jesus.  We pray that He will give us grace to trust Him more!

  • Date & time: Sunday evenings twice a month

    Led by Rick & Pat Howard

    Our Small Group will seek to glorify God as we build community with one another and  encourage each other to love Jesus more deeply.  We plan to draw from the seeJesus studies, which have an amazing knack for teaching about Jesus in a way we might not have encountered before.

  • Date & time: Thursday evenings, twice a month

    Led by Brian & Susan Whitacre

    We look forward to walking through the See Jesus curriculum with some folks, and deepening our faith alongside fellow believers at First Pres!

  • Date & time: every Sunday at 5:00pm

    Led by Brad Gruner

    We’ll gather together for dinner, followed by discussion of that morning’s sermon.

  • Date & time: every Sunday at 5:30pm

    Led by Shad Guinn and Pan Kayasit

    This group will rotate between 3 different homes in Lookout Valley, St. Elmer, and Flintstone, GA.

  • Date & time: Sunday evenings, twice a month

    Led by Joe & Amy Harmon, and Bryan & Stephanie Zumbach

    All ages welcome from young to old. We seek to be a multigenerational Small Group meeting regularly to deepen our relationships with other believers and strengthen each other as iron sharpens iron. We aim accomplish this through meals together, fellowship, time in the word, and time in prayer for each others needs. There will be lots of young kids here, and more are welcome! We plan to be flexible in how our meetings look as each week may vary based on season and childcare arrangements.
