It is far easier to shape a child than to repair an adult.” – Tony Evans
Just 1 hour a week during the school year as a Kids Hope USA mentor with a 1st - 5th grader at Orchard Knob Elementary School (OKES) supports a child’s character development, expands their view of the world, and helps break the cycle of poverty.
The excellent KHUSA Mentor training can be done at home, and you’ll receive ongoing support with ideas and encouragement.
In partnership with the Good News Club, we participate in special events for the OKES faculty and staff and the children’s families. It’s a wonderful way to engage with and show Christ’s love to our Orchard Knob neighbors. Employers often gladly let community volunteers have extra time off once a week to benefit our city.
If you’re a 1st Pres member age 18 and older, you can be an intentional friend with a purpose! Contact Cheri Partain at KidsHope@1stPresbyterian.com.
